SUBSTANCE ABUSE TREATMENT

We provide treatment for those caught in the cycle of substance abuse. This includes treatment for alcohol, opioids, heroin, cocaine, amphetamines, methamphetamines, and marijuana use.
The Matrix model is an evidence based approach to treatment. This model is recognized by the Center for Substance Abuse Treatment and the National Institute on Drug Abuse. As a result, clients can successfully recover from substance abuse disorders, addiction, and alcoholism.
We provide our clients with treatment plans that allow them to live their best lives in recovery. In addition, we help clients overcome the throws of addiction and move forward with their lives.
The Matrix Model is an approach that uses:
Cognitive behavior
Motivational enhancement
Couples and family therapy
Individual supportive/expressive psychotherapy and psychoeducation
Twelve step facilitation
Group therapy and social support
We help patients with recovery in the following:
Individual/group therapy
Early recovery
Relapse prevention
Family education

Drug and alcohol screenings
Mental health therapy and medication management for co-occurring disorders
Assessments are used to determine the recommended level of care and a treatment plan. As a result, the client can recover from their addiction, and move on to a life of abstinence.
Clients may come to us for inpatient referrals, intensive, or traditional outpatient programs. They may also come to us through DUI requirements or medically assisted treatments.
Intensive Outpatient programs include:
- Highest level of outpatient treatment with an intensive program design to support clients in early recovery from substance use disorder
- Structured setting that assists in their recovery
- 9 hours of intensive group therapy per week
- Multiple individual counseling sessions per month
Traditional Outpatient programs include:
- Individualized treatment plan that supports clients who enter treatment with a need for a less intensive program. This is based on their assessment or those who have completed the intensive program
- Structured setting to aid in that recovery
- 1 to 4 hours of group therapy per week
- Individual counseling sessions regularly
Medically Assisted Treatment
Vivitrol – Naltrexone for extended-release injectable suspension:
- A monthly injection that helps prevent relapse to opioids by blocking the opioid receptors in the brain for a month at a time.
- Also utilized to treat alcohol dependence
- Before starting VIVITROL, clients will need to be opioid-free for a minimum of 7 to 14 days. Clients will work with the medical team to assure that the initial injection is safe and will not cause sudden opioid withdrawal.
- Before starting VIVITROL, clients will need to be alcohol-free
DUI referred cases also:
- Meets state of Maryland first offender requirements for education
- 12-hour alcohol education program
- Courses run 6 weeks
