MEDICALLY ASSISTED TREATMENT
Our Medically Assisted Treatment (MAT) program is called Bridge to Abstinence. Clients who successfully complete this program live free of the use of opioids and other substances.
“We are happy to report that many continue in our after care program. And many are more than 3 years abstinent from drugs and alcohol. This is because we do everything we can to help those who need it most.”
Each client who enters our MAT program works with our medical team to create a treatment plan whose ultimate goal is abstinence from substances.
All Bridge to Abstinence clients are part of our Substance Use Disorder Treatment program. This allows them access to the following:
A treatment team that consists of a Substance Use Counselor, Nurse Practitioner, Licensed Practical Nurse and Mental Health Therapists, if needed
Individual counselling sessions, group sessions, medical appointments, and therapy appointments, if needed
We also provide a continuum of care for opioid-dependent clients. This includes those who may be abusing heroin or Oxycodone (Oxycontin, Percocet), Hydrocodone (Vicodin):
Suboxone
- This may be prescribed for clients who enter our program on Suboxone or who have not been through an inpatient or detox program
- Dosages are tapered with a plan between the medical team and the client
Vivitrol – Naltrexone for extended-release injectable suspension
- A monthly injection that helps prevent relapse to opioids by blocking the opioid receptors in the brain for a month at a time
- Also utilized to treat alcohol dependence
- Before starting VIVITROL, clients will need to be opioid-free for a minimum of 7 to 14 days. Clients will work with the medical team to assure that the initial injection is safe and will not cause sudden opioid withdrawal
- Before starting VIVITROL, clients will need to be alcohol-free
